He was one of the best ever Punjabi film director who never compromised on quality and great entertainment. Films like Medan (1968), Teray Ishq Nachaya (1969), Charhda Suraj (1970), Ucha Naa Pyar da (1971), Khan ChaCha, Sultan (1972), Ishq Mera Naa, Sidha Rasta (1974), Boycott (1978), Shaan (1982) and Chorun Qutab (1983) were some of greatest references to him.
M. Akram was actually a film editor and started his career in film Ilzam (1953). His first film as film director was Ghar Jawai in 1958 and got fame from Punjabi film Banki Naar in 1966. He was brother of M. Parvez, who produced most of their films. Actors Zubair and Saba were his relatives. He died on April 3, 1916 at Lahore.
